In Part 2 of a two part interview with Billy Bragg, Billy and Pete tackle issues that confront musicians today, including copyright, relationships with record labels, booking agents and managers. They speak candidly of their personal experiences in the Music Industry and the strong bonds they formed with each other over their 25 years working together. The first part aired last week.
Billy explains how he, Pete, and other prominent British Musicians developed the Featured Artist Coalition (FAC) to help Musicians protect their rights to their own art. Billy also explains his "Jail Guitar Doors" music education project for prisoners, and the responsibility of rehabilitation of people convicted and imprisoned by the State.
His work with Jail Guitar Doors, named after a song written by The Clash, has spread across England and helped provide an outlet for prisoners and their experiences inside.
